San Jose. After defending for several years the colors of Pizza Hut, the Costa Rican cyclone Andrey Fonseca changed teams and this week is the new member of Focus Bikes.

"I received a lot of excitement, but with a great commitment, the contract with Focus Bikes. I started six years ago to run professionally and I want to continue growing to give my team and the country many joys," said the pedalist. Of last year represented Costa Rica in the MTB of the Olympic Games Rio 2016.

Among the main objectives of his new team are the MTB AMPM Cup and the National Cross Country Championship (XCO). "We are looking for more possibilities to travel to compete internationally, I will have the support of the Focus team in several countries, this will be Great help to continue my process of professional growth, "explained Fonseca.

Andrey is currently the national XCO champion and Cross Country Eliminator (XCE).

The cyclist from Buenos Aires de Puntarenas will participate this Sunday in the Short Track, after which he will return to have participation in national soil in April in the Cup AM PM.

In July he will be in Europe where he will see action on the dates of the World Cup MTB 2017 in Andorra and Switzerland.

Upon returning to Costa Rica, he will concentrate on the PM and the XCO and XCE National Championships.

For August 6, Fonseca will be in the fifth stop of the 2017 MTB World Cup in Canada and the following month at the World Championship in Australia.

The year will close with one of its great objectives of 2017: the Central American Games to be held in Nicaragua in December.

In 2013 Andrey took the second place of the test of XCO in the Central American Games. (
