OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE BRAZILIAN CYCLING CONFEDERATION
LONDRINA, BRAZIL. The Brazilian Cycling Confederation (CBC), through this communication, informs the decision to provisionally suspend the announcement previously published on the official website of the entity, referring to the 2018 Pan-American Road Cycling Championship, which will be held between days 1 and May 6, in San Juan, Argentina.
In view of the recurrent cases of doping in which athletes from the Brazilian team Funvic / São José dos Campos have been involved, this confederation is committed to acting preventively in the fight against doping, mainly preventing the presence of members of the national team in any type of illicit action, the Confederation has decided on the recommendation of the Integrity Committee, the Anti-Doping Organization and the Athletes Commission of the Brazilian Cycling Confederation, that no athlete of the team
Funvic / São José dos Campos will be able to integrate the selection to the next Pan-American Road Cycling Championship 2018.
The Confederation assumes the commitment with its athletes, clubs and all those involved, to disclose as soon as possible a new call for this championship. (www.cbc.esp.br)
