THE OLYMPIC TIME TRIAL OF TOKYO 2010 WILL HAVE THE MONTE FUJI AS A WITNESS

MADRID. Mount Fuji, a rooftop volcano of Honshu Island and of all Japan with 3,776 meters of altitude, will witness the time trial events at the Tokyo 2020 Games, as well as the Paralympic races, according to the announcement of the Union Cyclist International (UCI) and the Organization Committee of the Japanese event.

The Olympic time trial, both male and female, will start and finish at the Fuji Circuit of Formula 1, and the route will consist of 44.2 kilometers for men, who must ride two laps on a 22.1km track.

In the women's event, the distance will be 22.1 kilometers, a return to the same previous circuit.

According to the announced data, the positive drop in the men's race will be 846 meters and 423 in the women's race.

The routes of all the cycling events include numerous ups and downs, and a hardness that will attract the main riders of the international peloton.

Toshiro Muto, general manager of Tokyo 2020, said that "all cycling races of the Olympic Games will be quite technical, they will cross the Mount Fuji region and the show will excite the public".
