The Costa Rican cyclist will officially debut with EF Education-EasyPost in the World Tour event in the United Arab Emirates, from February 20 to 26. This was confirmed this morning at a press conference.
During the announcement of some news for the participants of the Andrey Amador 2023 Gran Fondo, the national cyclist spoke about his ideal calendar and confirmed that he will open his competitive program in the same way as the previous year, in Emirati territory.
“The ideal calendar for me has always been Strade Bianche, Tirreno Adriatico, Tour of Catalonia, maybe the Northern Classics like Flanders, I really like Arenberg (Paris-Roubaix) and Giro d’Italia. Then rest completely and do the Tour de France, ”said Andrey, confirming that the first three competitions of that calendar will be the scene of his new start this season.
With the certainty of the good results that this plan has given him in the past and the motivation to belong to a new group, Andrey Amador sets his great bet on returning to one of the three great tours of world cycling.
“I would like to be able to be in the Tour de France, here I am working for that and I think I can achieve it. This is never fixed, but I know that by working hard and gaining confidence, I would like to be able to return. I am not going to forgive myself for retiring from the bike without being back on a big one and being able to do it relatively well, ”added Amador, warning about the commitment that his role as a gregarious man in the new team demands.
At the moment the UAE Tour, the third World Tour competition of 2023, presents its current champion Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) and world champion Remco Evenepoel (Soudal – Quick Step) as two of the members of its star lineup for its fifth edition.
