Guatemalan roads will once again be the scene of the BANTRAB Cycling Tour and within the peloton, which will be made up of 17 teams, there will be the presence of professional teams from five nations in the Americas: Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Mexico
The five international teams that will take part in this event that will take place from March 29 to April 2, 2023 are Movistar Best (Ecuador), Petrolike (Mexico), Seven Card – Economy – Lacoinex (Costa Rica), Team Medellín- EPM (Colombia) and Panama is Culture and Values.
This second edition of La Vuelta BANTRAB, in the UCI 2.2 category, consists of 613.5 kilometers in total, with 15 flying goals and 16 mountain prizes. There will be the presence of 165 cyclists, 12 national teams and 5 foreigners.
For Guatemala, the following teams will compete: Hino-One-La Red-Suzuki; bathroom decor; Chimaltenango Association; Castelli Ceramics-Association of Quetzaltenango; Quiché Association; Guatemalan Army; Celco paints; Municipality of Fraijanes; Copeba-Muebles Madeca; PPP Development Team; Association of San Marcos and Teo Copajebal.
THE STAGES
On Wednesday, March 29, the first stage between Guatemala – Sanarate – El Progreso Guastatoya – El Rancho and Salama Baja Verapaz, with 140 kilometers.
The next day, March 30, the route will go between San Miguel Chicaj – Salama – Cumbre de Santa Elena – San Juan Chamelco and Coban Alta Verapaz, with 124.5 kilometers.
The third stage, on March 31, includes 113.5 kilometers starting at Tactic and finishing at Guastatoya El Progreso.
For the fourth day, on Saturday, April 1, 116.5 kilometers are contemplated, between Patulul Suchitepequez – San Juan Bautista – Tiquisate and San Lucas Tolimán.
On Sunday, April 2, the last stage will have 119 kilometers, with seven mountain prizes and three flying goals, starting in San Juan La Laguna and arriving in Patzun.
