After nine stages, the Frenchman Benjamin Le Ny (Uni Sport Lamentinois). was crowned monarch of the Tour of Guadeloupe, which concluded this Sunday with a segment between Pointe-à-Pitre and Baie-Mahault, dominated by his compatriot Raphaël Lautone (Team Madras Cycling).
For his part, the Colombian cyclist Esneider Báez (Team Cama CCD) remained in second place in the individual general classification; while the American Tyler Stites (Project Echelon Racing) finished third in a competition that brought together 19 teams and more than 100 riders, endorsed by the UCI.
Benjamin Le Ny led the South American by 34 seconds and proved to be the best cyclist in the competition since he took the lead in the sixth stage. At 24 years old, this result is the most important for the French rider, who thanked his team for the support to preserve the leader’s yellow jersey.
The final day between Pointe-à-Pitre and Baie-Mahault, which took place on flat ground, left the French rider Raphaël Lautone (Team Madras Cycling) as the winner, who beat Tyler Stites (Project Echelon Racing) in the packing.
In other classifications of the Tour of Guadalupe, the points section left the Frenchman Lucas Boniface in first place with 163 units, escorted by the Americans Cade Bickmore (103) and Tyler Stites (83).
As for the mountain prize, everything was shared among the French: Damien Urcel (88), Benjamin Le Ny (69) and Adrien Guillonnet (33). Finally, by teams, the order was as follows: Hexagone – Corbas Lyon Metropole (97:33:11), Vendée U (at 10:11) and Team Madras Cycling 8th 29:42)
