The Tour of Chiriqui 2024 was won by Bolivar Espinosa (Panama is Culture and Values). The 27 year-old Panamanian, who did not win any stage, defended his leadership without setbacks in the last stage, disputed around the city of David.

The outstanding 27-year-old athlete accumulated 20 hours, nine minutes and 55 seconds to be at the top of the individual general classification, escorted by his fellow countryman Michael Caballero (Rally Giant), at 2:12 minutes; and the Costa Rican Andrés Alpizar (Ciclo Cafe-Coffe Expert-Repuestos Mena Volcano), at 2:22 minutes.

The cyclist from the host province of the competition maintained Panama’s dominance for the second consecutive year, after Franklin Archibold won the 2023 edition. For Espinosa this is another title, as in 2022 he conquered the Tour a Panama, according to the Panamanian Cycling Federation (Fepaci).

The last stage was won by the Panamanian Cristofer Jurado (Panama es Cultura y Valores), who was the fastest in the final pack, achieving his first victory in the race, after riding 80 kilometers on the border with Costa Rica.

Second place went to another Panamanian, Víctor Jaén (Rally Giant), eight seconds behind; and third place went to Costa Rican Jason Huertas (Costa Frut-Giant-AC Marriott Belén), nine seconds behind the leader.

In statements to the Panamanian Cycling Federation (Fepaci), Espinosa highlighted the teamwork to be able to dominate the final stage of the race and win the overall individual classification.

In the Vuelta participated 76 cyclists representing Cuba, Mexico, Panama, United States, Costa Rica and Colombia.
