The second stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné 2024 was won by Magnus Cort (Uno-X Mobility). The Scandinavian rider was the fastest in the definition and took the victory after 142 kilometers between Gannat and Col de la Loge.
The Danish rider, who achieved his first victory with the Norwegian team, beat Slovenian Primož Roglič (BORA – hansgrohe) and American Matteo Jorgenson (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), who came in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
As for the general classification, Denmark’s Magnus Cort (Uno-X Mobility) took over the lead of the race. The second place is occupied by the Slovenian Primož Roglič (BORA – hansgrohe) 4 seconds behind the leader.
With regard to the Latin riders, four Colombians in competition, Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain – Victorious) entered in 14th place, Harold Tejada (Astana Qazaqstan Team) was 22nd, Santiago Umba (Astana Qazaqstan Team) in 29th place and Ivan Ramiro Sosa (Movistar) entered in 32nd place, all with the same time as the winner.
The French race will continue on Tuesday with the third stage, a 181.7-kilometer mountainous section between Celles-sur-Durolle and Les Estables, a third-category summit finish.
