On Wednesday, the 94th edition of the Giro della Toscana, an Italian one-day race, will be run, which will have nine Colombians at the starting line, including Egan Bernal, Esteban Chaves, Daniel Felipe Martínez and Iván Ramiro Sosa in a journey of almost 200 kilometers .
After the three big races of the season and before the Road World Championship, the UCI international season continues. On Wednesday the 94th edition of the Giro della Toscana will be held, a race that is part of the UCI Europa Tour calendar.
The 191-kilometre route, starting and ending in Pontedera, will have an initial 66-kilometre flat, to then enter the final circuit of two laps, each with a climb to Monte Serra, 32 kilometers from the finish line.
There will be a total of nine Colombians on the starting line: INEOS will feature multi-champion Egan Bernal, Daniel Felipe Martínez and Brandon Rivera, while EF Education Easy-Post will include Esteban Chaves and Diego Camargo. Iván Ramiro Sosa and Einer Rubio will be in Movistar. The national batch will be completed with Santiago Umba (Drone Hopper-Androni Giocattoli) and Johnatan Cañaveral (Bardiani).
Among the illustrious that will be in competition are Samuelle Battistella, Guillaume Martin, Jonathan Castroviejo, Michael Woods, Andreas Kron, Gorka Izagirre, Marc Hirschi, Alexis Vuillermoz, among others.
Fernando Gaviria was crowned champion of the event in 2020, Carlos Betancur (2012) and Egan Bernal (2019) were runners-up, while Miguel Ángel Rubiano (2011) finished third.
