In an uphill finish, Esther Galarza (BMC Patobike Strongman) was victorious in the third stage of the Women’s Tour of Colombia 2024, disputed between Barranquilla and Minca Pozo Azul with a distance of 108.4 kilometers.

The South American sealed the victory ahead of the Antioquian Estefanía Herrera (Mujeres Antioquia-Orgullo Paisa) and the Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacón (BMC Patobike Strongman), who entered 16 seconds behind the winner.

When facing the first category mountain prize at the end of the fraction, Galarza launched a strong attack that meant the victory and took the lead of the race, which was in the hands of Diana Carolina Peñuela (DNA Pro Cycling).

The Ecuadorian, who was the most regular in the last kilometers of the climb, takes command of the competition, with a difference of 4 and 22 seconds over Herrera and her teammate, the Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacón.

The Women’s Tour of Colombia will continue this Friday with the fourth 134-kilometer stage between Ciénaga and Bosconia. On Sunday in Valledupar we will know the successor of the Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacón, champion of the last edition.
