This Wednesday, September 13, all the excitement of the Tour of Honduras 2023 began with the celebration of the first stage, which featured Guatemalan Dorian Monterroso as the main protagonist, finishing as the big winner of the day. That pride!

The rider originally from San Juan Ostuncalco, Quetzaltenango, took the victory in the 96.4 kilometer stage after winning the final sprint in the municipality of Lamaní, in Comayagua, where he surpassed local Luis López, from LL – BikeMart – Ceresa by meters .

Dorian, who participates as a reinforcement of Team Pro Bikes–Cemplus, took first place after a time of 2 hours, 16 minutes and 41 seconds. In addition to the stage victory, the Guatemalan also became the first leader of the general classification.

Second place went to López with the same time, while the podium was completed by another “chapín”, Bryan Ríos, finishing three seconds behind Monterroso. In the case of the cyclist from Quiché, he rides as a reinforcement for Team Cycling Tio Dolmo.

Dorian and Bryan are part of the group of 12 Guatemalan cyclists who are competing in the Vuelta a Honduras 2023. There is also the case of Manuel Rodas, Fredy Bulux and Gerson Toc, who are racing alongside Ríos as reinforcements for Tio Dolmo. While José Canastuj is Monterroso’s partner in the Pro Bikes-Cemplus.

For its part, the current team champion of the Vuelta a Guatemala, Hino-One-La Red-Suzuki, competes with its full roster, made up of Adolfo Vásquez, Tony Ramos, Edgar Torres, Víctor Tuiz, Esdras Morales and the Colombian Julián Alarcón.

The excitement of the Vuelta a Honduras 2023 will continue this Thursday, September 14, with the second stage, which will have a route of 134.70 kilometers on a circuit located in Villa de San Antonio.
