A new version of the International Tour of Chiriqui, to be held from November 21 to 28, will give continuity to the Panamanian calendar after the Tour of Panama.
The traditional Panamanian race will have 872 kilometers in total, in eight days of competition, with 22 flying goals and four mountain prizes, where the local Franklin Archibold will defend the title, after winning the special version of 2023, which took place last January.
The opening day of 202 kilometers will be the longest of the eight programmed, other two are called in circuits, similar number with characteristics of high mountain and an individual time trial.
The organizers expect teams from Cuba, Colombia and Costa Rica to participate with double representation, as well as teams from Mexico, the United States and Guatemala to exceed one hundred competitors.
THE 2024 STAGES
This year the International Tour of Chiriqui will begin on November 21 with a 202 kilometers route that will go between David – Costa Rica – Manaca – Finca Blanco – Progreso – San Pablo – Los Anastacios and Parque de Las Madres in Davis, a stage that will be sponsored by Senafront.
On Friday, November 22, 140 kilometers will be disputed between David-entrada de San Felix and Las Lomas, with the sponsorship of the Municipality of David.
For Saturday, November 23, the third stage will be a closed circuit in the town of Volcan, for 81 kilometers.
The Telca circuit is scheduled for the fourth day, on Sunday, November 24, between the Omar Torrijos Recreational Park-School José María Roy-Feria de David-Bar La Reina and Omar Torrijos Recreational Park, for 80 kilometers in the capital of Chiriqui.
The fifth stage will be held on Monday, November 25, it is the Rally stage, with a route of 121 kilometers, starting in the city of David and will go to San Lorenzo-Gualaca and will conclude in Boquete.
On Tuesday, November 26, 126 kilometers will be run with a high finish. The Pandeportes stage starts in David and will go through San Andrés-Circunvalación San Pablo-Poterillos and will conclude in the mythical Chancleta.
On November 27, Rali presents the penultimate stage, 19.3 kilometers long, it will be an individual time trial in the town of Chiriquí.
The curtain of this Tour comes down on Thursday, November 28, a historic day for our country, with a closed circuit whose unprecedented route will catapult the champion of this edition, with the sponsorship of the Mayor’s Office of David.
The start will be in front of the Museum José Domingo Obaldía-going to Calle C Sur-Romero Cementerio-Restaurante El Molino-Colegio Francisco Morazán-Cancha El Varital y Museo José Domingo Obaldía, to complete 75 kilometers in 20 planned turns.
