QUITO. Jorge Montenegro of the Eagle Bile-Tims team won the second stage of the Cycling Tour of Ecuador held on November 19, 2019. “We have worked very hard, with this victory. We hope to remain leaders until the end of the round,” said Montenegro .
Other winners were Byron Guama, with the Mountain Prize; Cristian Pita, with Flying Goals; sub 23 category, Benjamin Quinteros; and Joel Cortéz for competitiveness. The competition started at 9:00 in Quito and ended in Cayambe.
The competitors started in the Scala Shoping, passed through the Pifo exchanger; then they crossed the E 35 road, passing through sectors of Mariscal Sucre Airport, El Quinche, Oton, until reaching Cayambe.
The first stage of the Cycling Tour began on November 18 at the José Luís Recalde velodrome, a representative of each team completed a kilometer against the clock. Sebastián Novoa of the National Police Cooperative team, completed his participation in 1 minute, 6 seconds and 72 thousandths (01.06.72) and was the winner of the stage. The second place was Sebastián Rodriguez, of Shimano, with 01.07.41 Rickie Gordillo de Pró Rider was third with 01.08.00. The contest has the presence of 9 national teams and 2 foreigners.
