After a flat stage on the opening day of the Tour of Burgos, the second day brought a 13.1-kilometer team time trial between Oña and Poza de la Sal, in which the Jumbo Visma club asserted the label of favourite, and took the win.

This Wednesday’s was a predominantly smooth track with a slight ascent in the last two kilometres, and in which the explosiveness of all the runners was key so as not to stay on the course. Finally, the Jumbo time was 14’38”.

Consequently, there was a change of leader in the general classification. The Hungarian Attila Valter is the new leader and leads the general with the same time as his teammates Jan Tratnik, Koen Bouwman and Primoz Roglic, while Iván García Pierna, from Moviestar, is fifth to thirteen seconds.

The Dutch team Jumbo Visma prevailed ahead of the Movistar Team -of Einer Rubio- at 19″, while the podium of the day was completed by Bora Hansgrohe at 30″.

The third stage will start, this Thursday, from the town of Sargentes de la Lora and will reach Villarcayo after 183 kilometers. It is marked by the mountains and the many passes that cyclists will have to climb, including Picón Blanco in a special category, 36.5 km from the finish line. The last one, the Alto de Bocos, from third, will be crowned seven kilometers from the finish.: How is the general classification going after the second stage?
