In an uphill finish, Lilibeth Chacón (Pato Bike BMC Team Strongman) showed her climbing skills and won the fifth stage of the Women’s Tour of Colombia 2024, elaborated over 121.2 kilometers starting in Valledupar and finishing in Pueblo Bello.

The Venezuelan comfortably won the fraction beating the Canadian Nadia Gontova (DNA Procycling) by 2:03 and the Spanish Ariana Gilabert (Einecat-CM Team) by 2:13, who came second and third respectively. The best Colombian was Stefanía Sánchez (Pedaleras) in fourth position.

The general classification suffered important changes in the first positions. Ecuadorian Esther Galarza (BMC Patobike Strongman) lost the lead to Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacon (Pato Bike BMC Team Strongman).

In the early stages of the penultimate day 13 riders broke away. The breakaway of the day was led by Milena Salcedo (Pato Bike BMC Team Strongman), Kaitlyn Rauwerda (DNA Pro Cycling), Andy Barrera (DNA Pro Cycling), Andrea Álzate (Eneicat CM Team), Belén Garza (Boneshaker), Karina Flórez (Colombia Potencia de la Vida), Paula Latriglia (Colombia Potencia de la Vida), Lina Rojas (Team Sistecrédito), Karen González (Team Sistecrédito), Valery Londoño (Pedaleras), Angelina Roa (Mujeres Antioquia-Orgullo Paisa), María Paula Uribe (Avinal-Alcaldía EL Carmen de Viboral) and Jireh Mesa (Picap), but in the final part they were all neutralized by the peloton.

the Women’s Tour of Colombia 2024 round will end this Sunday with the sixth and final stage, an individual time trial designed over 28 kilometers around Valledupar, where the Venezuelan rider will be able to revalidate last year’s title.
