This Saturday, April 8, the Peruvian capital will host the South American BMX Freestyle Championship, which will take place at the Costa Verde circuit in San Miguel. The Peruvian National Cycling Sports Federation (FDPC) will be in charge of the event.
In addition to the local delegation, the representatives of Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, Costa Rica and Canada have confirmed their participation in the competition, in the Elite category, in the male and female modalities.
Among the names that will distinguish the contest are those of the Costa Rican Kenneth Tencio and the Brazilian Gustavo Batista, both with participation in continental and world championships, which make them two attractions for the dispute of the medals.
The event will help the participants accumulate points in search of their qualification to the Santiago de Chile 2023 Pan American Games, where this modality of cycling promises to be one of the most attractive for the fans and especially for television.
After this event, many of the delegations from these countries will travel to Panama from April 17 to 23 for the 2023 Pan-American Road Cycling Championship, which gives a direct quota to the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
