The 7C Economy rider from Palmares, Luis Daniel Oses, was crowned champion this Sunday, December 22 of the Tour of Costa Rica Telecable 2024 with a time of 36:27:15 after ten stages that took place in the seven provinces of the country since Friday, December 13.

Oses took the lead from the second day of competition and held throughout the race the leader’s jersey that made him this Sunday the first Costa Rican champion of the maximum event of the Costa Rican pedals after the pandemic of covid-19.

It is worth remembering that in the Vueltas of 2022 and 2023 the title went to Ecuador with two different riders of Movistar Best PC, therefore with the victory of Oses, the trophy stayed again in Costa Rica after four years.

“We formed a united group in which we all trusted, today we got the win, there is an indescribable feeling, too many emotions at the moment of crossing the line,” said Oses after the victory.

The second place of the lap went to the Team CMS Prefabricados San Carlos Hyundai rider, Joseph Ramirez, who was 30 seconds behind the champion and was also credited as the best under 23 rider, while Alejandro Granados of Colono Bikestation Kölbi was third overall at +02:29.

“We are very satisfied, happy with life, it was a great lap, from the Federation we thank the sponsors, local governments, my work group, this is a Christmas present for the cycling fans,” said Oscar Avila, president of the Costa Rican Cycling Federation (FECOCI).

Other titles:

Sebastián Moya of Distribuidora Cruz Tecnoforest Trama took the mountains title for the second consecutive year; while Ignacio Prado, rider of Canel’s Java was crowned champion of the flying goals and the points section.

Pablo Mudarra of Colono Bikestation Kölbi won the last stage of the Vuelta Costa Rica Telecable 2024.
