The fourth edition of the UCI Track Champions League ended in London with the fifth and final round, held at the Lee Valley VeloPark velodrome, however, the day had an unexpected outcome, due to an accident when the Keirin Women’s race was being disputed.
There were two days of competition in the capital of the United Kingdom, where the rider from Santander showed again her best level to place in the final podium, after five rounds.
With her performance throughout the championship, the Colombian rider was among the best in the general classification in the sprint, thanks to her performances in the sprint events and especially in the keirin, her great specialty.
At the end of the 2024 edition of the UCI Track Champions League, Martha Bayona finished in 3rd position in the sprint with 124 points, the winner was the Russian Alina Lysenko with 140 points and the second position was for the British and Olympic champion Emma Finucane, who accumulated 133 points.
It is worth mentioning that Bayona managed to win two silver medals and one bronze medal in the five days of the competition. The series, which was organized in collaboration between Warner Bros., Discovery Sports and the UCI, had as its main objective to make track racing more accessible to spectators, who day by day are joining this modality.
