The 61st edition of the Tour of Venezuela, a national cycling event that is part of the calendar of the International Cycling Union and the UCI America Tour Calendar, will have eight stages, as confirmed by its organizers this week.
The national cycling event, organized by the Venezuelan Federation of this sport, will be held from October 6 to 13 and will be taking its colorful caravan through the states of Merida, Trujillo, Lara, Yaracuy, Carabobo and the Capital District, accumulating a little more than one thousand kilometers of route.
Thus, the first stage will be in Merida, with a passage through Lagunillas, Santa Cruz de Mora and a finish, after 130 kilometers in Merida; the second emotion of 180 kilometers will see the checkered flag lowered in Santa Elena de Arenales in Merida to finish in Valera.
The third chapter says goodbye to the Venezuelan Andes to reach the state of Lara and after 150 kilometers finish in the musical Guara town of Carora; The Ecuador of the Tour, which also distributes points for the world championships, will be an individual time trial of 40 kilometers, having as starting and finishing point the Lara town of El Tocuyo, passing through San José de Quibor, Venezuelan land where excellent riders like Jesús Goyo, young promise of cycling that just this year makes his debut in Europe with the Astana team.
The fifth chapter of the Tour of Venezuela will be staged between Quibor and Yaracuy, in a demanding fraction that will arrive in ascent to the ruins of El Castillo de San Vicente, after 150 kilometers; the sixth stage will continue in the territory of Reina del Sorte, with the dispute of a fast circuit in San Felipe of 120 kilometers.
Valencia, the capital of the historic state of Carabobo will experience the penultimate stage, while Caracas, the capital of the Republic with a fast-paced circuit will close this competition, both stages with a distance of 160 and 120 kilometers, respectively.
