The Colombian pisteros ratified their good sporting moment in the third round of the UCI Track Champions League 2024 held at the Apeldoorn Velodrome (Netherlands), with new podiums for Martha Bayona and Cristian Ortega.
The rider from Santander returned to fight with the best, taking second place in the women’s sprint race. The first place went to the Russian Alina Lysenko, who continues unstoppable. In the Keirin, also won by Lysenko, Stefany Cuadrado from Antioquia finished fourth and Martha Bayona from Santander was seventh.
In the men’s race, Ortega finished second in the Keirin, a race won by the British Matthew Richardson, while Kevin Quintero from Valle del Cauca was 13th.
In the sprint, things went at a different price, and Ortega was classified sixth and Quintero in 14th place. In the accumulated, the Dutchman Harrie Lavreysen is the leader with 106 points, the rider from Barranquilla is third with 84 units and the rider from Valle del Cauca occupies the 13th position.
