Although there were expectations for Nairo Quintana’s return to the Tour de France, the Colombian rider himself confirmed that in 2025 his goals for 2025 will once again be focused only on the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España.

The 34-year-old from Boyacá said: “the purpose of next year is to race the Vuelta a España and the Giro d’Italia, taking advantage of the leadership that the team can give us and the opportunities we can have to complete a good season”.

When it came to the balance of 2025, Nairo valued what he had done, indicating that “we had a good season. There are always ups and downs, but we managed to finish well, doing a good job in Italy, and now I’m looking forward to starting in February with my team in Spain.

Similarly, the Colombian rider reiterated his intention to contribute to the strengthening, not only of cycling in Colombia, but also in Latin America.

“In the future I want to have the opportunity to help cycling in Latin America. It is my goal… Investment is necessary to change the lifestyle of young people, get them out of delinquency, form good citizens and surely we will have cases where they become champions,” Quintana added.

During 2024, the Colombian cyclist was affected by injuries and some health problems, but anyway he confirmed his category to compete in the Giro d’Italia, where he came close to winning a stage, and in the Vuelta a España, in which he did not achieve prominence.

The 2014 Giro d’Italia and 2016 Vuelta a España champion always had the dream of winning the Tour de France, but it eluded him, in 2013, 2015 and 2016, when he was second twice and third once.
