After more than 3 months of total inactivity, the Nicaraguan Cycling Federation culminated this week its National Championships in the Road and Mountain Marathon modalities.
The first to compete were the specialists from Contra Reloj en Ruta who met in the municipality of Tipitapa, a locality of Timal Hydraulic that links this city with Malacatoya 37 km from Managua, capital of the country, who opened the new hydraulic concrete highway that connects this city with Malacatoya. A total of 117 runners took the start representing seven departmental associations and these were the results:
Last Sunday it was their turn for the MTB runners in the Marathon specialty where 77 athletes met in the beautiful department of Chontales on a tour over the beautiful Amerrisque mountain range and the municipalities of Juigalpa, San Pedro del Lóvago and La Libertad.
And to finish, the Championships corresponding to the Road event had just finished with an extraordinary participation of 144 runners who completed a 96.8-km circuit through MANAGUA-CRUCERO-DIRIAMBA-JINOTEPE-EMPALME NANDAIME-EMPALME DE GUANACASTE-ROTONDA CATARINA-ROTONDA LAS FLORES-CIRCUVALATION ROAD TO MASAYA
