Three of Three! The Venezuelan rider of the Colombian team Clarus Merquimia Group – Strongman, Lilibeth Chacón, remains unstoppable and added her third consecutive victory in the International Women’s Tour of Costa Rica 2023.

Chacón won head-to-head against the Colombian Karen Villamizar (Pato Bike BMC Team), on a 118.4 kilometer route between Palmares and Fátima. Third came the Mexican Marcela Prieto (Pato Bike BMC Team) 7 seconds behind the winner.

“I think that each stage puts each person in their place, but a race is not over until the finish line is passed. We will do our best for what is missing and I am very happy,” said Chacón.

“We have worked very well as a team, we have trained in the best way and here are the results of that, tomorrow will be a hard day, we are going to work and may God reward us with a victory,” said Chacón.

In the general classification, the Venezuelan has 07:36:54, second place goes to the Canadian Nadia Gontova (Roxo Racing) at 26 seconds while third place is currently for the Mexican Marcela Prieto (Pato Bike BMC Team) at 51 seconds.

The leadership by points and the mountain section is also in the hands of Chacón; while the flying goals are for Jannie Salcedo, who was virtually crowned champion in this section and the sub 23 leadership goes to Annette Saavedra. The best Tica is Milagro Mena, who is placed in eighth position, 03:43 behind the leader.

The closing of the Costa Rican race for women will be a circuit this Sunday, October 15 between Escazú, San Rafael, Guachipelin and Escazú with 83 kilometers in total. The test will leave at 8:00 a.m.
