Pedalists from more than 40 countries of the Americas will compete from May 8 in the Pan American Mountain Bike Championships that include Short Track, Relay, Eliminator and Cross-Country events in Junior, U23, Elite and Masters categories, which will be held in the city of Midway, Utah, United States.
The Soldier Hollow Nordic Center will host the Pan American Mountain Bike Championships through May 12, 2024, an international competition returning to the United States for the first time in more than 20 years featuring top athletes from multiple disciplines competing for continental titles and crucial qualifying points for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
The event will combine aspects of the annual Soldier Hollow Bike Festival with the Pan American Championships races, including USA Cycling-sanctioned amateur races for youth and adults, to provide an opportunity for competitors of all levels to get in on the action.
To participate, all athletes must be duly affiliated in 2024 and possess an international license and letter of authorization from the respective National Federations. The event awards points for the world ranking of the International Cycling Union (UCI), in the Olympic cross-country (XCO) modality, as well as the qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
This will be the third commitment of the year for the mountain bikers of the Americas after attending the first two dates of the International Cycling Union World Cup, which were held in April in the cities of Mairiporã and Araxá, Brazil.
