Paraguay will host the Pan American track cycling championship from April 2 to 6. The competition will be held at the velodrome of the National Track Center, located in the Olympic Park of Asuncion.
The event, organized by the Paraguayan Cycling Federation and the Pan American Cycling Confederation (Copaci), will award valuable points for the world ranking and the World Championship of Santiago 2025, as well as quotas to the Pan American Youth Games Asuncion 2025.
The event will begin on Wednesday, April 2, with the team sprint events in both genders; the classification of the team pursuit in both genders and the women’s scratch.
On Thursday, April 3, the final of the team pursuit in both genders, the men’s keirin, the women’s elimination, and the women’s sprint wave classifications will be held.
On Friday 4 the turn will be for the points race and the individual pursuit in the men’s category, and the omnium and the sprint in the women’s category.
On Saturday 5, the time trial, the points race and the individual pursuit will be held in the women’s category, and the omnium and sprint in the men’s category.
Finally, on Sunday 6, the Pan American competition program will close with the time trial and the elimination in the men’s category, the women’s keirin and the madison races in both categories.
This Pan-American of the sport will give the possibility to the elite to obtain points for the International Cycling Union (UCI) ranking with a view to the World Track Championships this year, as well as for the qualifying process towards the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028.
The remaining Pan American championships will be the road race, announced from April 23 to 27, in Uruguay, and the mountain bike race, to be held in Costa Rica on April 26 and 27.
