HIDALGO, MEXICO. The 2019 Pan-American Road Championship that will be held from April 29 to May 5 in Hidalgo with the participation of nearly 300 cyclists from more than 20 countries who seek to add points towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Leonel Palma and Francisco Lara are the cyclists who have the most opportunity to join the national team to make the list in the Pan-American Games as well as Fernando Islas, all of them in the U23 category, specifically in the Ruta modality.
Eight days before the Championship a camp will be held and it is where the aforementioned cyclists would be who are expected to overcome that filter to represent Hidalgo and Mexico in the competition.
In addition, this weekend will be the selective in Sonora where the representative will conform to the national champions.
The president of the Mexican Cycling Federation, commented that a very good event is expected in which UCI points are awarded the first 40 places where Mexico will have good representation.
José Antonio Silva, president of the Hidalguense Cycling Association, said that in Pachuca the time trials will be held in the River of the Avenues on the first day, for the second day will be activity for the U23, Women and Elite; Subsequently Sub 23 with the clock to Ixmiquilpan and Sunday with the Elite also with route to Ixmiquilpan.
