The Slovenian Primoz Roglic, champion of the Giro d’Italia 2023, won the third stage theTour of Burgos 2023. The Jumbo Visma cyclist achieved victory over the final shot in the middle of the sprint against the rest of his rivals.
Such a stage connected the towns of Sargentes de la Lora and Villarcayo after 183 kilometers, the team that claimed the victory was Jumbo, as Roglic was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 04:26:00 followed by the Russian Alexsandr Vlasov from BORA – hansgrohe.
In a new arrival that was defined by sprint, where four riders were, who started fighting not to lose time in the general classification. England’s Adam Yates of the UAE Team finished third, and Australian Damien Howson of the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team finished fourth.
The Colombian Einer Rubio (Movistar) was the best of the Latino riders on the day. The Spanish team rider crossed the finish line in fifth step, just 1:07 behind the winner of the stage.
The general classification had several movements in the upper part. Roglic is the new leader with a time of 08:19:26 followed by his escorts on the day. Rubio is the best of the coffee riders, 01:36 behind the Slovenian, occupying the fifth box.
For his part, Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain – Victorious) marches in box 43 at 13:03. Diego Camargo (EF Education-EasyPost) is 59 at 16:22. Finally, Juan Sebastián Molano, winner of the first day, ranks 99 at 28:06.
