In an exciting finish full of attacks, Roderyck Asconeguy won the ninth stage of the Tour of Uruguay 2024 ahead of his compatriot Oscar Araujo (San Antonio de Florida) and Argentinean Lucas Gaday (Dolores C.C), who came in second and third, respectively.

The Charrúa rider of Audax de Flores, who achieved his third stage victory in this edition, came out victorious after riding 163.9 kilometers between Carmelo and Trinidad. The breakaway group arrived with an advantage of more than 2 minutes over the peloton.

Regarding the general classification, there were no important changes. Juan Caorsi of Armonía Cycles remained in the lead and this Saturday he will be back in yellow. Caorsi is escorted by Camilo Pimentel, at 25 seconds, and by Leonel Rodríguez at 29.

The Uruguayan race will continue this Saturday with a 145.6 kilometers stage that will join Trinidad with Durazno. The South American race will end on Sunday, March 31 in Montevideo, when the successor of the Argentinean Jorge Giacinti, winner of the last edition in 2023, will be announced.
