SAN JOSE. This Sunday, the second edition of the New York Costa Rica Grand Fund was held, where about 400 cyclists gathered for one of the races that is part of the largest marathon in the world.

The competition, held at Fortuna de San Carlos, Alajuela, began at 6:00 in the morning at its two distances, 150 kilometers and 90 kilometers.

On the one hand, the distance mother of the race was won by the experienced athlete Rom Akerson, who managed to take the advantage over his closest rivals (Ronald Araya and Federico “Lico” Ramírez) in a ballast path. Akerson entered the goal with a time of 4 hours 2 minutes and 55 seconds.

Natalia Navarro took over the women’s category after taking advantage over Marcela Rubiano and Cristel Espinoza in the last 25 meters of the route, culminating with a time of 4 hours 41 minutes and 4 seconds.

In the 90 kilometer journey the winners were The 90km were won by Josué Cambronero (2:28:55) and Angie Sierra (3:07:32). (elmundo.cr)
