After Nu Colombia won the first stage of the Tour de Rio 2024 with antiqoueño Sergio Henao, the locals woke up and the Brazilian Vinicius da Silva Santos (São José Ciclismo) took the second fraction of 151.2 kilometers with start and finish in Conservatória.
“It was a very hard race, the teams worked hard to chase and catch the breakaway. Our team put together a good strategy. With four kilometers to go I gave everything I had and thank God we took the victory,” said Da Silva, once the stage was over.
João Gaspar, who had been the best Brazilian in the opening stage of the competition, finished in second place, while Colombian Wilmar Paredes (Team Medellín-EPM) finished third.
