Unbeatable! To round off his spectacular performance Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) dominated the 33.7-kilometer final time trial between Monaco and Nice and took the title in the 111th edition of the Tour de France. The Slovenian won six stages.

“I’m too happy, very difficult days, I searched for perfection without making mistakes. I had full confidence this Tour, it was really wonderful and I enjoyed it to the fullest,” said the three-time winner of the Gallic round.

Pogacar flew through the time trial at 44.53 km/hour, setting a finishing time of 45:24 that no one could beat. Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) finished second and Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) finished third.

The best Latin American in the overall individual classification was Colombian Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain – Victorious), who had an excellent time trial, finishing ninth behind Harold Tejada (Astana Aazaqstan), which allowed him to finish in the top 10 of the overall Tour.

The UAE leader, who took the lead after winning the fourth stage, won the final day to finish on the top of the podium of the French round. The race’s places of honor were completed by Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) and Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step).

The 25-year-old Slovenian cyclist, who emerged victorious in the 2024 Giro d’Italia, managed to do the feat and win the Grand Bouclé this season, a double that only seven great champions in the entire history of cycling have achieved: Fausto Coppi, Jaques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, Stephen Roche, Miguel Induráin and Marco Pantani.
