In an uphill finish, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) emerged victorious in stage 14 of the Tour de France 2024 between Pau and Saint-Lary-Soulan Pla d’Adet after 151.9 kilometers. The Slovenian was the strongest on the final climb and then held on well to take another big win.

Pogacar won solo after attacking and overtaking all the escapees on the very hard final climb, finishing ahead of Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) and Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), second and third respectively.

As for the classification, Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), solidified his lead in the race, increasing the gap to his closest rivals. Now with Denmark’s Jonas Vingegard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), escorting him at 1:57.

Before the start of the final climb to Saint-Lary-Soulan Pla d’Adet (10.6 km at 8%), Polish Michał Kwiatkowski (INEOS Grenadiers), Frenchman David Gaudu (Groupama – FDJ), Irishman Ben Healy (EF Education – EasyPost), Spaniard Oier Lazkano (Movistar Team) and South African Louis Meintjes (Intermarché – Wanty) were in the lead.

In the closing, the breakaway was disintegrated and with the passing of the kilometers all the escapees were losing strength and ended up being caught by Tadej Pogacar and the other favorites.

The best Colombian of the day ended up being Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain-Victorious), who finished 6th, 1:23 behind the winner, followed by Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers), closing the top 20 of the day more than 4 minutes behind Pogacar.

This Sunday will be the 15th stage of the French round, starting in Loudenvielle and finishing in Plateau de Beille, over a route of 197.7 kilometers in mountainous terrain, which includes four first category climbs and a summit finish.
