The 107th edition of the Giro d’Italia is approaching, which will be animated mainly by the presence of great World Tour riders such as Tadej Pogacar, Sepp Kuss or Nairo Quintana, who returns to the elite of world cycling in his second stage with Movistar for this 2024.

Both riders and teams are the focal point of the show in the ‘corsa rosa’, so the organization announced in the last hours the squads that will be part of this race.

On the one hand, there will be the great animators of world cycling such as UAE Emirates (with Pogacar at the head), Visma Lease a Bike (former Jumbo Visma), Movistar, INEOS Grenadiers, Astana or Bora-Hansgrohe, which could have the Colombian Daniel Felipe Martinez as its leader for this tour.

In addition to the 18 World Tour teams, also appears Israel – Premier Tech, which got its place thanks to the classification it obtained in the UCI ranking at the end of 2023. While Polti Kometa, VF Group Bardiani and Tudor Pro Cycling were invited through the Wild Card. The latter, led by multiple world champion Fabian Cancellara, will make its debut in the Giro.

The 22 teams confirmed by the organization will also participate in Strade Bianche, Tirreno Adriatico and Milano-Sanremo. Other lower-ranked teams such as Corratec, Lotto-Dstny, Uno-X Mobility and Corratec will also take part.

This time, the route will start in the Piedmont region, near the city of Turin, where the first mountain passes will be presented before heading south of the Italian peninsula with the demanding climb to Prati di Tivo as the protagonist at the end of stage 8.

From there, the route will return to the north with tough mountain sections in the Apennine Mountains before closing with the traditional circuit in Rome.
