One day after the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, cycling will open the competitions with the individual time trials for both genders, always attractive and eye-catching for the thousands of fans of this sport.
The following days will be followed by the XCO, BMX and road races, while the star events of the Olympic program, which will be held on the wood of the Saint Quentin velodrome in Yvelines, will be held at the end.
It is almost a tradition for cycling to be contested in the early stages of each Olympic Games. In Paris 2024, this trend will be maintained, with the competitions starting after the opening ceremony, ignoring those that will have started a few days earlier, just a couple of matches of the soccer, handball and rugby tournaments, as can be seen in the calendar of the French event.
The cycling events will kick off on Saturday 27 July with the individual time trial on a completely flat course starting and finishing in the heart of the city and, like the men’s and women’s road races, which will take place on 3 and 4 August respectively.
The time trials will give way, on July 28 and 29, to the XCO mountain bike races, undoubtedly another of the most anticipated events for cycling enthusiasts, which will be followed by the spectacular BMX competitions, both with the incredible tricks that riders will show us in the Freestyle events on August 30 and 31 and the circuit races that will take place on August 1 and 2.
However, the highlight of any Olympic cycling event is the track races that will be held at the fabulous Saint Quentin velodrome in Yvelines. These events will take place between August 5 and 11.
