The Vuelta a España already has a presentation date for the 2024 edition, which will start on August 17 in Lisbon and will conclude on September 8 through the streets of Madrid.
The presentation of the La Vuelta 2024 route will take place on December 19 starting at 8:00 p.m. in an event that will be held at the Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel and where the presence of some of the great figures of the peloton is expected.
With the routes of the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France already presented, it is the turn of the Vuelta a España, which will begin with the three-stage dispute in Portugal. From Portuguese lands the multicolored snake will go to the north of the Iberian Peninsula, with days through Asturias recovering the mythical climb to the Lakes of Covadonga, as has already been leaked in some media.
Unlike the 2023 edition, won by the American Sepp Kuss with a historic triplet on the podium with riders from the same team, Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard, La Vuelta 2024 will not be conditioned by the previous dispute of the World Championships, but with the time trial and line events of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The announcement of the route will also help to clear up the unknowns about the possible participation of La Vuelta in an edition in which cyclists of the stature of the Colombian Egan Bernal and the current champion, the American Sepp Kuss, have already confirmed their presence.
