A total of 25 teams will be part of the 74th edition of the Tour of Colombia, which will be held from June 14 to 23, along 1,295 kilometers, between the departments of Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Tolima, Caldas, Risaralda, Valle and Antioquia.
There will be 175 cyclists participating in the continental, brand and league teams, who will start in the 7.4 kilometers prologue, which will open the competitions in the municipality of Macanal, Boyacá, next Friday, June 14.
The international squads that will be present with the continental category will be Movistar Best PC and Team Saitel, from Ecuador; Forte Petrolike – Androni Giocattoli and Canel’s Java from Mexico, and Panama es Cultura y Valores. Also present will be the Pio Rico Cycling Team, from Bolivia, which this year has a regional category.
Representing our country will be the continental teams Nu Colombia, Team Medellín EPM, GW Erco Shimano, Orgullo Paisa, Team Sistecrédito and Colombia Potencia de la Vida, a team of the Ministry of Sports.
Also competing will be: Boyacá es para Vivirla; Avinal – Alcaldía El Carmen de Viboral; Team Orígenes Coffee; Alcaldía de Manizales 100% Huevos – Gobernación de Caldas; Team Fundecom – Calzado Gocci; F y F Team; Ebsa Empresa de Energía de Boyacá; Depormundo; Alcaldía de Cota – 4WD – Rentacar; Néctar Indeportes Cundinamarca; Alcaldía de Sogamoso – Mundial de Tornillos; Indeportes Tolima es Pasión, and the Huila League.
The official schedule will open next Thursday, June 13 with legalization of registration, accreditations, verification of licenses, and delivery of authorized, radios, numbers and chips, in a day that will take place between 9:00 and 12:00 noon, at the Club Social Gauthoc (Carrera 6 # 10-46) in Guateque, Boyacá.
From 1:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon the Technical Congress will be held, while from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, the organization’s meeting will be held with representatives of the police, marshals, photographers, cameramen and drivers, activities that will also take place at the Club Social Guathoc.
The official presentation of the 25 teams that will participate in this edition of the race will take place from 5:00 in the afternoon, at the Main Park of Guateque.
