From Friday, January 24 to Sunday, February 2, 2025, the 40th edition of the Tour of San Juan will be held in the province. The road cycling competition will cross several departments and will have a prologue and nine stages, including a team time trial.
This race, intended for male cyclists in the Under 23 and Elite categories, will have the presence of local, national and international teams from neighboring countries. The complete list of teams and participants will be known this week, after the corresponding registrations.
The Tour of San Juan will be organized by the Pedal Club Olimpia, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports with its Sports Secretariat and the San Juan Sports Agency, the supervision of the San Juan Cycling Federation and the main sponsorship of the Government of San Juan.
Following are the stages, routes and schedules of the Tour of San Juan 2025.
Friday, January 24 – Prologue
Department: Santa Lucía.
Concentration: 8:00 p.m., at the intersection of Tomás Edison and Colón streets.
Start: 9:00 p.m.
Route: along Colón street north to Cordillera de los Andes street, east to San Juan street, south to San Lorenzo street, west to Colón street, north to the finish line at the same place where the start was (Colón and Tomás Edison).
Total: 7.6 KM approx. each turn.
A new edition of the Vuelta Inclusiva will be held at the same place before the Prologue, starting at 6 pm. Registration link at the following link.
Saturday, January 25 – Stage 1 (online)
Department: Capital – Sarmiento – Albardón.
Concentration: 15:30 hours, at Plaza 25 de Mayo in Capital.
Start: 4:30 p.m.
Route: by controlled train along Mendoza Street south to Circunvalación Avenue (2 KM approx.). Kilometer 0 in Mendoza Avenue and Circunvalación Avenue. Free track along Mendoza Street southwards through Rawson Dept. up to Uñac Ave. junction (Pocito Dept.), continue up to 11th St. where you turn east to Route 40. South to Ruta 295 where you turn east to La Plata Street (Dpto Sarmiento), north to Rawson Street (Dpto San Martín), continue to junction Nacional Street and turn west at the traffic circle to Aguilera Street (Dpto Angaco), enter Dpto Albardón, Sarmiento Street to Ruta 40, north to enter Circuito San Juan Villicum and reach Línea de Meta.
Total: 136,5 KM aprox.
Sunday, January 26th – Stage 2 (online)
Half Water
Department: Sarmiento.
Concentration: 15:30 hours, in Plaza Dominguito de Media Agua.
Start: 16:30 hours.
Route: by controlled train along Rivadavia Street west to José Ares Street, north to Barboza Street, west to Route 40 where it turns north and passing the train tracks will be given the Vía Libre (1.3 KM approx.). Kilometer 0 on National Route 40 passing the train tracks.
The route continues along Ruta 40 north to Calle 14 (Pocito Department), west to Aberastain Street, north to Calle 11, east to Uñac Avenue, north to Mendoza Street (Rawson Department) to República del Líbano Street, west to España Avenue, north to turn west on Circunvalación Avenue, enter the ring passing through the Departments of Capital, Rivadavia, Santa Lucía and exit at Acceso Sur Ruta 40 in the direction of Pocito Department. On Route 40 south to Uruguay Street (Dpto Sarmiento) where it turns east to 25 de Mayo Avenue, north to Rivadavia Street, west to Línea de Meta, in front of Plaza de Media Agua.
Total: 124.3 KM approx.
Monday, January 27 – Stage 3 (team time trial)
Department: Rivadavia.
Concentration: 15:30 hours, on Libertador General San Martín Avenue in front of the Forensic Scientific Complex.
Start: 16:30 hours.
San Martín Avenue west to Teniente Galíndez Street, north to the traffic circle and turn west on Route 60 to the traffic circle in front of the Fauna Park where you return on the opposite lane to Galíndez Street, Lib. General San Martín Avenue to the finish line in the lane in front of the starting point.
Total: 12.2 KM approx. each turn.
Tuesday, January 28th – Stage 4 (in line)
Department: Capital – Sarmiento.
Concentration: 15:30 hours, at José Ignacio de la Rosa Avenue and Caseros Street, in front of the Municipality of the City of San Juan.
Start: 4:30 p.m.
Route: by controlled train along Ignacio de la Roza Avenue eastwards to Rawson Avenue, southwards to 9 de Julio Street, eastwards to Circunvalación Avenue Bridge where the Vía Libre will be given: 1,800km. Kilometer 0 at 9 de Julio Street and Circunvalación Avenue Bridge.
The race continues along 9 de Julio street towards the east, Av. Hipólito Yrigoyen (Dpto Santa Lucía) to Acceso Este Ruta 20, passing by Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Airport (Dpto 9 de Julio), San Juan River bridge, to La Plata Street (Dpto Caucete), south to Ruta 241, east to Ruta 270 (Dpto 25 de Mayo), south to Calle 10, west to La Plata Street, south to Ruta 295 (Dpto Sarmiento), west to Ruta 162, south to Route 319, east to Bufano Street, north to Route 295, west to Route 162, south to Barboza Street, west to Route 40, south to Aranda Street, east to Bufano Street, north to Doncel Street, west to 25 de Mayo Street, north to Rivadavia Street, where it turns west to the finish line in front of Plaza de Media Agua.

Wednesday, January 29th – Stage 5 (in line)
Punta Negra Dam
Department: Rivadavia.
Concentration: 15:30 hours, in Rastreador Calívar street in front of Rivadavia Park.
Start: 16:30 hours.
Route: by train controlled by Rastreador Calívar Street towards the north, turn at the traffic circle by Av. Lib. Gral. San Martín towards the west and in front of Plaza 20 de Noviembre Free Route: 1,300km. Kilometer 0: Av. Lib. Gral. San Martín in front of Plaza 20 de Noviembre.
San Martín to the west up to Teniente Galíndez street, north to the traffic circle and turn west on Route 60 passing Paredón Dique de Ullum, Arnobio Sánchez street, Valentín Ruiz (Dpto Ullum), Aviadores Españoles, and at the intersection with Hermógenes Ruiz street a circuit begins that will be run three times: Aviadores Españoles, Paredón Punta Negra, Ruta Interlagos, Las Moras street, Hermógenes Ruiz up to Aviadores Españoles street. After the three turns, the route returns along Valentín Ruiz Street, Arnobio Sánchez, Route 60, Paredón Dique de Ullum, up to the traffic circle on Galíndez Street, Lib. Gral. San Martín Avenue up to the finish line in front of the Forensic Scientific Complex.
Total: 138.7 KM approx.
Thursday, January 30 – Stage 6 (in line)
Department: Pocito.
Concentration: 15:30 hours, at the intersection of Aberastain and Maurín streets.
Start: 16:30 hours.
Route: by controlled train along Aberastain Street north to 11th Street, east and passing Uñac Avenue, Via Libre: 1.500km. Kilometer 0: Calle 11 passing Av. Uñac.
Carrera continues along Calle 11 east to Ruta 40, north to Calle 8, where it turns west to Av. Uñac. South to 14th Street, west to Aberastain Street, north to the finish line at the intersection with Maurín Street. This circuit will be run in 5 opportunities ending in Aberastain and Maurín streets.
Total: 110 KM approx.
Friday, January 31 – Stage 7 (online)
Ascent to Cerro Colorado.
Department: Santa Lucía.
Concentration: 07:30 hours, on the side of Avenida Circunvalación before San Lorenzo street, in front of Metales Concepción SRL, Santa Lucía.
Start: 08:30 hours.
Route: by controlled train on the side of Circunvalación Avenue, passing San Lorenzo Street, entering Circunvalación Avenue and on the bridge of General San Martín Avenue. Kilometer 0: Circunvalación Av. and bridge Av. Lib. Gral. San Martín.
The race continues along Circunvalación Av. to the south until it exits at Hipólito Yrigoyen Av. Turn east to Colón Street. To the north up to Benavídez Av. To the west until lateral of Route 40, turn to the north and enter Route 40 passing through Chimbas and Albardón, until turning in Talacasto, in Route 436. By this one until the derivator, continue to the north by Route 149 until Línea de Meta in Alto del Colorado, Dpto Iglesia.
Total: 142 KM approx.
Saturday, February 01 – Stage 8 (online)
Paraje Difunta Correa, Vallecito.
Department: Santa Lucía.
Concentration: 15:30 hours, in Departmental Plaza.
Start: 16:30 hours.
Route: by controlled train along Gral Paz Street up to Colón Street, south to the traffic circle, Route 20 and in front of the Monument to the Gaucho the Vía Libre will be given: 3,200km. Kilometer 0: Route 20 in front of the Gaucho Monument.
The route continues along Route 20 towards the east up to the San Juan River bridge, entrance to Caucete Department, up to the traffic circle and turn onto Paula A. de Sarmiento Street, Route 20, until turning onto Route 141 in the direction of Vallecito. Turn counterclockwise and return along Route 141 until you join Route 20, Paula A. de Sarmiento Street, Route 20 towards the west until you enter 9 de Julio Department, Santa Lucía. Continue along Route 20 until Hipólito Yrigoyen. Turn north on the side of Av. Circunvalación up to Gral. Paz Street where it turns east up to the finish line in front of Santa Lucía Municipality.

Sunday, February 2nd – Stage 9 (in line)
Circunvalación Avenue
Department: Capital.
Concentration: 15:30 hours, at José Ignacio de la Rosa Avenue and Caseros Street, in front of the Municipality of the City of San Juan.
Start: 4:30 p.m.
Route: by controlled train along Ignacio de la Roza Avenue to Rawson Avenue, Güemes Street, entrance to Circunvalación Avenue, Abraham Tapia Bridge: 2.500km. Kilometer 0: Circunvalación Av. and Abraham Tapia.
The race continues along Circunvalación Av. to the west up to Mendoza St. bridge. From this point there will be 8 complete turns to the Avenue to finish at Av. Circunvalación and Mendoza Sur.
Total: 128.6 KM approx.
Approximate total distance of the race: 1,054 kilometers.
