The Caribbean Coast will be epicenter for the first time of the Vuelta a Colombia Femenina, event belonging to the international calendar UCI in the category 2.2, which in its ninth edition will travel from August 20 to 25 more than 621 kilometers, through the departments of Bolivar, Atlántico, Magdalena and Cesar.

Cartagena de Indias will be the city in charge of opening the competitions of the most important women’s race of the national calendar, on Tuesday, August 20, when the first stage will start from La Heroica and will cover 101.9 kilometers, culminating in the capital of Bolívar.

On Wednesday 21, the riders of the elite and Under-23 categories will leave Cartagena, and will pass through the municipalities of Loma de Arena and Puerto Colombia, to reach the Malecón of Barranquilla, after traveling 127.5 kilometers.

In the third stage, which will take place on Thursday, August 22, a 108.4 kilometers section will be disputed between Barranquilla and Pozo Azul, Magdalena, while on Friday 23 the fourth stage will be held, from Ciénaga to Bosconia, in a day in which 134 kilometers will be run.

On Saturday, August 24, the race will leave Valledupar for Pueblo Bello, a municipality in the northern region of the department of Cesar, located in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, to complete 121.2 kilometers.

The Vuelta a Colombia Femenina 2024 will end with an individual time trial of 28.1 kilometers, starting and finishing at the Gobernación del César in Valledupar.

The race will seek to crown the new champion of the women’s round, who will join the list of winners of the race, among which are the Venezuelan Lilibeth Chacón, champion in the 2023 and 2021 editions; Diana Peñuela, winner in 2022; the Ecuadorian Myriam Núñez, champion in 2020; the Chilean Aranza Villalón, in 2019, and the Colombian Ana Cristina Sanabria, winner of the first three editions (2016-2017-2018).

The Women’s Vuelta a Colombia 2024 will begin its official activity on Monday, August 19, with the review of licenses, confirmation of riders and delivery of accreditations, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, at a location yet to be confirmed

From 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. the Technical Congress will be held, and from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. the meeting of the commissaires with the Police, the accredited media and the drivers who will be in the caravan.

The official presentation of the participating teams will take place at 4:30 p.m., at the Plazoleta de la Torre del Reloj, in Cartagena de Indias.

This will be the route of the ninth edition of the Vuelta a Colombia Femenina:

Route: Cartagena – Loma de Arena – Puerto Colombia (by the Window to the World Monument) – Finish at the Malecon of Barranquilla (127.5 km)

Stage 3: Thursday, August 22

Route: Malecón de Barranquilla – Los Cocos – Tasajera – Puebloviejo – Ciénaga – Vía Alterna al Puerto de Santa Marta – Minca – Pozo Azul (108.4 km)

Stage 4: Friday, August 23

Route: Ciénaga – Aracataca – El Copey – Bosconia (on the road to Valledupar) (134.km)

Stage 5: Saturday, August 24

Route: Valledupar (Departure at the Gobernación del César) – return PR 70 (before Mariangola) – PR 105 – Return – detour to Pueblo Bello (121.2 km)

Stage 6: Sunday, August 25

Route: Individual Time Trial – Start at the Gobernación del César in Valledupar – PR 106 – Return – Finish at the Gobernación del César (28.1 km)
