The fifth stage of the Tour of Ecuador 2024 was dominated by Colombian riders. Robinson Chalapud (Team Banco Guayaquil) was the strongest at the end and achieved another victory in the South American race, after riding 153.4 kilometers between Urbina and Machachi.

As for the general classification, the Ecuadorian Brayan Obando (Movistar Best PC) remained in the lead of the Ecuadorian race escorted by the Colombian-Spanish Oscar Sevilla (Team Medellin-EPM) both with the same time.

The sixth fraction of the Ecuadorian round will be run this Saturday with a mountainous route of 174 kilometers, leaving Machachi to reach Cotacachi. On Sunday in the Middle of the World we will know the successor of Robinson Chalapud, champion of the last two editions.
