In a finish for sprinters, Arlex Méndez (Alicanto Group Kino Táchira) was victorious in the third stage of the Tour of Táchira 2025, after riding 136 kilometers between Santa Bárbara de Barinas and Ciudad Bolivia. His compatriot Jhonny Araujo (Gobernación de Trujillo) maintained the leadership of the race.

The young Venezuelan won the duel with his countrymen Breinner Camargo (Politachira Heidy Lee Sport) and the leader Jhonny Araujo (Gobernación de Trujillo), who came second and third, respectively. While the best Colombian was Daniel Arroyave (Selección Colombia) in 17th place with the same time as the winner.

“I want to thank my teammates, very happy for the victory. I felt good, I had good legs and thank God we got the win. A very fast circuit, but everything went as planned and to celebrate this victory,” said Mendez at the end of the stage.

As for the general classification, Trujillo’s Jhonny Araujo (Gobernación de Trujillo) remained in the lead. The Venezuelan is escorted by Enmanuel Viloria (Confitería La Guacamaya Guacafruit) and Arlex Méndez (Alicanto Group Kino Táchira). While Edgar Pinzón (Selección Colombia) entered the top 10.

This Wednesday will be disputed the fourth stage of the Tachira round, with departure at Hacienda Los Almendros and arrival at San Cristobal, on a route of 113.1 kilometers, which includes two mountain prizes.
