The Tour of Uruguay 2025, the oldest stage race of the continent, continued this Saturday with its penultimate stage that went from Santa Lucia to Maldonado with a distance of 164.7 kilometers and the winner was Anderson Maldonado who, in addition, took the leader’s jersey the day before the end, with 17 seconds of advantage over the Brazilian Vinícius Rangel.

The competitor of the Club Náutico de Boca del Cufré crossed the finish line first in Maldonado, after starting the course in Santa Lucía (Canelones), after three hours, 34 minutes and six seconds. The podium was completed by his teammate Agustín Alonso (03:34:12) and the Venezuelan Edwin Torres (03:34:49), representative of the Venezuelan national team.

With one day to go, the individual general classification underwent important changes. Brazilian Vinícius Rangel (Swift Pro Cycling) lost the lead by one second to Anderson Maldonado (Club Náutico y de Pesca Boca Cufré), while Venezuelan Francisco Peñuela (Selección de Venezuela) closes the partial podium.

The last stage will be run this Sunday, a flat day of 145 kilometers between Maldonado and Montevideo, where we will know the successor of the Uruguayan Juan Caorsi, winner of the last edition in 2024.
