This Thursday the seventh stage of the Tour of Uruguay 2025 was disputed, leaving from Agraciada with arrival in Durazno over 192.7 kilometers and where the Brazilian Gabriel Metzger won the duel to the Venezuelan Winston Maestre in the oldest stage race in America.
The ACRD Cycling Team rider crossed the finish line in a time of five hours, three minutes and 45 seconds. Next to him came the Venezuelan Maestre, from the Venezuelan national team. The Argentinean Lucas Gaday, from the Dolores Cycles Club, completed the podium of the day.
After seven demanding days of competition, the individual general classification changed, where Brazilian Vínicius Rangel (Swift Pro Cycling), who rode for Movistar Team last year, became the new leader. Second was his compatriot Gabriel Metzger and third place went to Venezuelan Francisco Peñuela, of the Venezuelan national team.
The day was a real party for neighbors and visitors of Durazno, who accompanied the multicolored caravan, reaffirming the commitment of the Municipality with sporting events of local, national and international projection.
This Friday will be run the eighth stage of the Charrúa round, which will start from Durazno, in which 175.8 kilometers will be covered to reach Trinidad. The Uruguayan race will end on Sunday, April 20 in Montevideo, when the successor of the Uruguayan Juan Caorsi, winner of the last edition in 2024, will be announced.
