The second challenge with the high mountains had among its great protagonists the national team of Colombia, integrated by riders of Team GW Erco Shimano, although the triumph smiled for the local Yilber Ramírez, with the second place for Daniel Arroyave in the sixth stage disputed between Tovar and La Grita.

The cards were played in the demanding ascent to La Grita, and it was Daniel Arroyave, along with Camilo Gómez and Edgar Pinzón, the ones in charge of carrying to a successful conclusion the strategy of Luis Alfonso Cely, to dispute the stage and achieve an important rise in the general classification of the 60th edition of the Tour of Táchira.

Arroyave, as has been his custom since the first day of the race, was part of the breakaway. Combative and key to set the pace of the long breakaway, the Antioquian gave in on the ramps on the way to the final mountain prize and finished second in the queen stage behind Venezuelan Yilber Ramirez (Indet Criket BDV Gran Misión Venezuela).

Camilo Gómez was sixth, 50 seconds behind the winner. This helped him to enter the top 10 overall and remain as the U-23 leader, while Edgar Pinzón finished 9th and retained his fifth place.

The seventh day of the Tachira round, one of the most awaited, will take place this Saturday on a 151.4 kilometers route with a second category mountain prize, Cerro del Cristo Rey.
