The cyclist Yuli Verdugo and the Olympic medalists Gabriela Agúndez (diving) and Paralympic Rosa Castro (athletics) along with their coach Humberto Cosío were elected as winners of the 2021 State Sports Award, who will receive such a distinguished award at the ceremony on November 20.
The foregoing as a result of the session that took place this Tuesday afternoon and which was headed by the general director of the South Californian Institute of Sports, Gilberto Garciglia Higuera, with the presence of the Notary Public number 15 Beatriz Adriana Aguilera Martínez, to give it formality to the election process.
The members of the jury proceeded to the vote, granting by unanimous decision the tie in the category of athletes to the national selections Yuli Verdugo of cycling, Gabriela Agúndez of diving and Rosa Carolina of Para Athletics, all counting on participation in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games .
In the category of coach by majority, the winner was Humberto Alejandro Cosío Agúndez, responsible for the preparation of the Paralympic medalist in Tokyo 2020, Rosa Carolina Castro Castro, who managed to impose a mark of 33.74 meters.
In the modality of promotion, promotion or protection of sports, it was deserted in agreement of the jury, who reviewed the proposals and determined the decision collectively.
